2019 EIC AWARDS
The Engineering Institute of Canada is pleased to announce the winning recipients of its 2019 senior engineering awards and fellowship inductees. The senior awards of the EIC are the highest distinctions made by the Institute and are awarded to deserving members of its 12 constituent societies.
Six truly exceptional engineers were presented with EIC’s engineering medals in recognition of their outstanding achievements and service to the engineering profession. In addition, 20 engineers were inducted as EIC Fellows for their exceptional contributions to engineering in Canada. You may view a full list of 2019 winners by scrolling down this web page. 2019 EIC Award Winners
The Sir John Kennedy Medal
Established in 1927 to commemorate “great service rendered to engineering” by Sir John Kennedy, a Past President of the EIC, this medal is the most distinguished award of the Institute. It is awarded on a biennial basis.

The Julian C. Smith Medal
Founded in 1939 to perpetuate the name of a Past President of the Institute, the
Julian C. Smith Medal is awarded for “Achievement in the Development of Canada”.

The K. Y. Lo Medal
Established by a former group of students in 1997 to honour Professor K.Y. Lo of the University of Western Ontario, this medal is awarded in recognition of significant engineering contributions at the international level.

The John B. Stirling Medal
