Professor Pas S. Pasupathy
– A Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
Dr. Pasupathy obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) at the University of Madras and a M.Tech in Electronics and Circuits at the Indian Institute of Technology (Madras). Subsequently at Yale he was granted a Masters and PhD in Communications. He then did post-doctoral work at the University of Toronto, where he is now a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Dr. Pasupathy is an international authority in the field of Digital Wireless Communication, which includes modulation and error control. His work is characterized by its solid theoretical base, while still providing a clear path towards practical solutions. He has contributed high quality, scholarly work for leading journals and conferences, in fact more than 250 articles and contributions to 3 books. More than 100 of these are in the most prestigious archival journals, and his work has been cited in more that 100 different patents. This demonstrates the high regard in which his work is held, internationally.
